About the Mentor
Mike Stambaugh has extensive experience in creating and working with world-class organizations to improve leadership, operational, and financial efficiencies in challenging environments. He has international work experience in more than 10 countries.
Mike’s professional experience began when he served nearly two decades as an Officer of United States Marines, both on active duty and in the Reserves. During his last tour, then Major Stambaugh, was twice awarded the General M. J. Maas Trophy, designating him the Commanding Officer of the most combat ready unit in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Mike is also an accomplished business executive. Following completion of his graduate studies, he was selected to be a part of the General Electric Company’s executive development program, the Corporate Audit Staff, where he led business initiatives including M&A, Six-Sigma, Pricing, organizational design, and e-Commerce. Mike was subsequently asked to build a strategy practice on the West Coast for a small e-Commerce consulting firm, Answerthink, Inc. This experience led to him being recruited into the Bank of America Corporation to lead the strategy development of their e-Commerce platform. Mike served in a variety of roles at Bank of America, including strategy roles for their Design & Transformation Group, Consumer Banking Executive in St Louis and Southern Illinois, as well as National Sales Executive for their call centers. Following his work with larger corporations, Mike has worked in more entrepreneurial ventures including building an independent consulting practice, Fidelis Management Consultants, which leverages his expertise in cross-functional leadership experience and operational finance. In his practice, he served as interim COO at Gateway Motorsports Park and interim Director of Finance at The Emily Program, among other short-term initiatives.
