Shailen Amin (“Shay”) has over 20 years of experience as an advisor providing strategic, operational and financial advice to several Private Equity Investors, start-ups and early to mid-stage ventures. He works directly with Investors, Founders and C-level executives on developing business plans, strategic alliances, customer growth initiatives, fundraising and acquisition opportunities. Shay has had success developing strategy and translating strategy into actionable business plans that drive revenue and profit growth. He was the Chief Executive Officer/Co-founder of the largest footwear e-commerce website in India which raised $20 million in funding.
Shay has excellent deal investing, valuation and negotiating skills having structured multibillion-dollar transactions at WPP, KPMG, and Arthur Andersen and is a trusted advisor to Investors and Founders. He is an experienced deal advisor with unique functional expertise as an Entrepreneur, CFO, M&A Dal Advisor and Auditor in US and International markets. He has significant industry experience in Technology; Media & Advertising; Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences; Consumer & Retail and Financial Services.
Prior to joining BDO, Shay spent several years leading Corporate Development investment activities of WPP Group in North American, EMEA and the Asia Pacific. Shay worked closely with operating company management teams to evaluate acquisition opportunities, assess strategic investments in alliances and joint ventures, restructure and improve underperforming companies, and maximize the value of divestment opportunities. He led the acquisition due diligence process including target identification, financial performance evaluation, valuation assessment and negotiation process for WPP’s M&A transactions. In addition, Shay became the regional CFO of WPP’s subsidiary, Millward Brown, based in Singapore leading the financial, operational and strategic growth initiatives for Africa, Middle East, and the Asia Pacific. Prior to WPP, Shay was a Director of Transaction Advisory Services at KPMG and Arthur Andersen and an Auditor at Arthur Andersen.
